Egypt Coffestival 2022

Coffee Lovers Cheer! 15,000 visitors joined the 3rd Edition of Coffestival which is an annual three-day festival that was held from 3 to 5 March 2022, in Egypt in one of the most prominent hotels “Intercontinental Cairo Semiramis”. This festival included 29 different coffee companies for all to enjoy. The purpose of the festival was to attract coffee lovers to educational training courses on how to make coffee in various ways. Also, there were specialized training events for contestants in Junior Barista. The festival included all coffee national and international merchants, professionals, cafes, distributors, and caffeine lovers. Visitors are allowed to try any kind of coffee they want, so they can find which suits them the best and if any decided to buy, they will receive special discounts. Coffee aficionados from all over the country gathered and were exposed to various coffee types, ways of preparing it, and different grinding machines which they can buy and use at home safely and easily. Amr Hassan, the owner of Amr Hassan Academy Specialty Coffee, said that he “aims to develop the coffee culture in Egypt in addition to marketing our new products to coffee aficionados who visit the festival”. Hassan added that the festival allows visitors to drink coffee produced by famous brands, learn more about various coffees from famous industries, and enjoy meeting other coffee lovers”. Mariam Mahmoud, a visitor expressed her happiness and revealed that “bringing us all together under one roof really is a day to remember” explaining how they have the chance to spend only a few hours walking and taking tours of the festival and knowing a lot where on the other hand if the festival was not present, “I would spend hours searching on the Internet to find jut a little information”. Mahmoud said that the festival gave her the chance to compare the selections and talk to the sales behind the brands”. This festival becomes popular from one year to another continuing to attract coffee lovers from around the country. It’s worth mentioning that Egypt imports 70,000 tons of coffee annually according to the statistics presented by the coffee division of the Cairo Chamber of Commerce. It is also noted that coffee is the second most consumed beverage in Egypt coming after tea.
