Tahini Cauliflower: healthy recipe from levantine cuisine

A white dish, consisting of a cauliflower plant blended with Tahini paste, represents a very popular meal in Palestine, Syria, and Lebanon. The delightful taste of the mixture has many secrets owned by food enthusiasts who are interested in Levantine cuisine. 


Yehia Ali, Chef in Holiday Inn in Riyadh, said that the so-called “white flower meal” is a nutritious one that is healthy for the human body. It contains a high ratio of antioxidants in addition to  Selenium which prevents heart diseases and is considered beneficial to cancer patients. Tahini paste also consists of calcium that is useful for bones. 


Ingredients:

-1 cauliflower plant

-Vegetable oil

-1 onion

-A cup of Tahini

-A glass of water

-½ cup of lemon

- Salt spoonful 

-Black pepper spoonful 


Instructions:

1- Chop the cauliflower with equal size, then fry it in vegetable oil

2- Chop the onion in small pieces. Add them to the oil until it becomes golden

3- Mix Tahini with water by adding half a cup of lemon, until they are mixed together. Add them to the onions, add the black pepper spoonful and salt spoonful

4- Decorate the fried cauliflower in a tray and make sure it is free of oil drops, then add tahini onions on it

5- Leave the mixture in the oven for a period of 25 to 30 minutes at a temperature of 180°

5 -Get it out of the oven and serve it with white rice or bread
